    Spaces

Build visual AI workflows, automate creative processes, and collaborate in real time — all on an infinite canvas.

Spaces is a canvas-based environment where you connect AI tools visually to build, automate, and share creative workflows. Instead of switching between tools for each step, you wire everything together in one place — generation, editing, audio, and collaboration — and run it as many times as you need.

Think of it as a creative playground where AI tools work together, and you're the director.

    What is Spaces

Spaces is an infinite canvas where you design and run multi-step creative workflows using AI tools. Each step in your workflow is a node — a block that does one specific thing, like generating an image, writing a prompt, creating a voiceover, or upscaling a video. You connect nodes to define how data moves from one step to the next.

The result is a workflow you can see, reuse, and share. Instead of recreating the same process from scratch each time, you build it once and run it again whenever you need it — adjusting only what changes.

Spaces is built for two types of users. Power creators — designers, art directors, brand teams — who want precise control, repeatability, and collaboration across complex workflows. And anyone who wants fast results through ready-made templates, with no setup required.

    Core concepts

These are the building blocks you work with inside Spaces:

    ConceptWhat it is
CanvasYour infinite workspace. Pan, zoom, and scroll freely in any direction — no page boundaries or artboard limits. Place nodes wherever makes sense to you.
NodeA single building block that does one thing: generate an image, write text, add a voiceover, upscale a video, and more. You add nodes to the canvas and configure them individually.
ConnectionThe line between two nodes. Connections carry data — images, text, video, audio — from one node's output to another node's input. They define the flow of your workflow.
PortThe small circle on the edge of a node where connections attach. Every node has input ports (data coming in) and output ports (data going out). Ports are typed — Spaces shows you which connections are valid as you drag.
WorkflowA chain of connected nodes that execute together. When you run a workflow, data flows from the first node through every connection until it reaches the end.
SpotlightThe fastest way to add nodes. Press Space bar or / anywhere on the canvas and a search panel appears. Type what you need — the matching nodes show up instantly.

    Data types

Data flows between nodes in specific types. Connections are type-safe — you can only connect compatible ports. This keeps your workflows clean and prevents errors before they happen.

    TypeWhat it carries
    ImagePhotos, illustrations, AI-generated images
    TextPrompts, captions, AI-written copy
    VideoGenerated clips, uploaded footage
    AudioVoiceovers, sound effects, music
SVGVector graphics (experimental — limited node support)

    Node categories

Spaces organizes its nodes into seven categories so you can find what you need quickly.

    CategoryWhat is inside
MediaUpload files, access your assets library, find stock content
TextWrite prompts, use AI assistants to generate or refine text
ImageGenerate, upscale, edit, and create variations of images
    VideoGenerate, combine, and upscale videos
AudioCreate voiceovers, sound effects, and music
UtilitiesLists, sticky notes, stickers, and groups for organization
DesignerFull graphic design editor embedded in Spaces

You can also use Spotlight to search across all categories at once — press Space or / and type what you need.

    What you can build

Spaces is flexible enough to handle simple one-step tasks and intricate multi-branch pipelines. Here are some ideas to get you started:

    Text-to-image pipeline with upscaling

Write a prompt, generate an image with AI, then automatically upscale the result to print-ready resolution — all in three connected nodes.

Video generation with voiceover and music

Generate a video from a text description, pipe it into a voiceover node to add narration, then layer in background music. Export a complete video without leaving the canvas.

    Batch processing with lists

Need 20 variations of the same concept? Use a List node to feed multiple prompts into a single image generation node. Spaces processes each one and collects the results, no manual repetition.

    Multi-page designs with Designer

Open the Designer node — a full graphic design editor embedded right inside Spaces. Create multi-page layouts, then feed individual pages into other nodes for further processing, animation, or export.

    Custom reusable workflow apps

Once you have built a workflow you love, save it as a Workflow App. It becomes a single, reusable block with its own inputs and outputs — like building your own custom AI tool that you or your team can use again and again.

    Create your first space

To open Spaces, go to the Freepik homepage, open the AI Suite from the left-hand menu, and select Spaces under the All tools tab.

On the Spaces home screen, you’ll see your recent Spaces and a selection of templates to help you get started or explore new ideas.

    Start from scratch

    1

    Open Spaces

Go to freepik.com/pikaso/spaces or click Spaces in the top navigation.

    2

    Create a new space

Click + New space to open a blank canvas.

    3

    Add your first node

Click + on the canvas, use the left sidebar, or press Space or / to open Spotlight and search for the node you need.

    4

    Configure the node

Set your inputs — write a prompt, upload an image, or adjust settings depending on the node type.

    5

    Connect nodes

Drag from the output handle of one node to the input handle of another to create a connector. The output of the first node becomes the input of the second.

    6

    Run it

Click Run on the node or use the Run button in the toolbar to execute the workflow.

    Start from a template

    1

    Browse templates

On the Spaces home screen, go to the Templates tab.

    2

    Pick a template

Choose a workflow that matches what you want to build.

    3

    Open and customize

The template opens as a new space. Edit any node, change inputs, or add new steps to make it yours.

    Templates

Templates are pre-built workflows that compress multi-step creative processes into a few clicks. They cover common use cases — product visuals, social content, character animation, and more — and are ready to run or customize.

You can browse templates from the Spaces home screen. Each template can be opened, edited, and saved as your own space. Templates are also a good way to learn how nodes and connections work together in practice.

TipIf you're not sure where to start, pick any template and explore how it's built before editing it. Templates are a fast way to understand how nodes and connectors work together in practice.

    Collaboration

Spaces is built for teams. Every canvas supports real-time collaboration.

    • Live cursors — See where your teammates are working, in real time.
    • Shared editing — Multiple people can add, move, and configure nodes simultaneously.
    • Comments — Leave feedback directly on the canvas, attached to specific nodes or areas.
    • Viewer and Editor roles — Control who can make changes and who can only observe.

For details on sharing, permissions, and working with your team, see the full Collaboration guide.
