3D Scenes
Build virtual environments, direct the camera, and capture production-ready images — like a photoshoot in a virtual studio.
3D Scenes lets you construct 3D environments, place objects and characters, control the camera, and capture high-quality images. Start from a preset location, your own images, a 3D object, a real-world Street View panorama, or an empty canvas. No 3D expertise required — you compose the scene, position the camera, and the AI handles the rendering.

Create a scene
Open 3D Scenes
Go to freepik.com/pikaso/tools/3d-scenes or find it under 3D in the tools menu.
Choose a location
Select a preset environment from the Browse gallery, upload your own image, or search for a real-world place via Street View.
Add a subject (optional)
Browse the 3D object library, upload your own 3D model, or select an image to generate a 3D object on the fly.
Generate
Click Generate 3D scene. The tool builds a navigable 3D environment based on your inputs.
Compose and shoot
Use Compose mode to place objects and build the scene, then switch to Shoot mode to frame your camera and capture images.
Choose a location
The Location panel lets you define the environment for your scene. Three input methods are available:
| Tab | How it works |
|---|---|
| Browse | Choose from a gallery of preset environments — Beach, Nordic house, Mediterranean coast, Photography set, Desert, Winter landscape, Modern kitchen, and more. Select Empty to start with a blank canvas (grid and fog). |
| Image | Upload your own image as the scene base. The AI reconstructs it as a navigable 3D environment. Great for turning product photos, concept art, or interior shots into explorable scenes. |
| Place | Search for any real-world location and use Google Street View panoramas as your base environment. People are automatically removed from panoramas. Not available on Enterprise plans. |
Add a subject
The Subject panel is optional — use it to place an object into your scene during generation. Three input methods are available:
| Tab | How it works |
|---|---|
| Browse | Pick from the built-in 3D object library. Categories include everyday objects, vehicles, furniture, and more. |
| 3D Model | Upload your own 3D model in GLB format. You can also use models generated with the 3D Generator. |
| Image | Select an image and the tool generates a 3D object from it on the fly, placing it directly into the scene. |
You can always add more objects after the scene is generated using the Compose mode toolbar.
Templates
3D Scenes includes a library of pre-built scene templates to help you start quickly. Click the Templates button in the top-right corner of the tool to open the template gallery.
Templates are organized by category — browse the 3D World collection for ready-made environments like Beach, Nordic house, Photography set, Desert, Moroccan Riad, Winter landscape, and many more. You can also search for templates by name or browse categories like Images, Videos, Music, and Spaces.
Select any template to use it as your starting point. Once loaded, you can customize everything — add or remove objects, reposition the camera, and capture your own shots. Templates save setup time and are especially useful when you need a specific type of environment quickly.
You can also save your own scenes as templates under My templates for reuse across projects.
Compose mode: build your scene
Compose mode is your workspace for building the scene. You have a free-moving camera and full control over what goes into the environment.
In Compose mode you can:
- Add 3D objects from the Freepik library, your own uploads, or objects generated with the 3D Generator.
- Add characters to the scene and position them within the environment.
- Move, scale, and position elements using on-screen controls or keyboard shortcuts.
- Duplicate objects to quickly populate your scene.
- Manage scene elements from the side panel — toggle visibility, reorder, and select items.
- Navigate freely through the 3D space using keyboard and mouse controls.
Use the G key or the snap-to-ground button to quickly place any object on the ground plane.
Add 3D objects and characters
The toolbar lets you add elements to your scene from several sources:
Freepik 3D library. Browse a built-in collection of 3D objects across categories including Nature, Urban, Architecture, Props, and Vehicles, plus basic geometric primitives.
Your own creations. Use 3D models you've previously generated with the 3D Generator.
Image to 3D. Upload an image directly in 3D Scenes to generate a new 3D object on the fly and add it to the scene.
Upload a model. Import your own GLB file.
Once added, click any object to select it. Use the side panel to inspect the scene hierarchy, rename elements, toggle visibility, or adjust positioning.
Shoot mode: frame and capture
Switch to Shoot mode when your scene is ready and you want to capture images. This mode gives you a camera viewfinder with professional controls.
Position the camera
Frame your shot by moving the camera through the 3D environment.
Adjust camera settings
Set the field of view, zoom level, and aspect ratio for your output.
Add a prompt (optional)
Write a prompt to guide the HQ render — describe the style, lighting, or mood you want.
Choose capture quality
Select Standard for a fast preview or High Quality for a production-grade render.
Capture
Click Capture. You can take as many shots as you want from different angles without rebuilding the scene.
The 3D environment persists between captures, ensuring visual consistency across all your images — same lighting, same objects, same environment, different angles.
Camera controls
| Control | Description |
|---|---|
| Field of View (FoV) | Adjust the camera's viewing angle from the settings panel. Wider FoV captures more of the scene; narrower FoV compresses perspective like a telephoto lens. |
| Zoom | Zoom in and out within Shoot mode. The zoom level persists between Compose and Shoot — reset it if you switch back. |
| Position | Move the camera freely through the 3D space using keyboard shortcuts and mouse controls. |
| Aspect ratio | Select the output aspect ratio for your capture. |
Cinematic settings like focal distance and aperture persist between sessions and when switching between Compose and Shoot modes.
Standard vs High Quality capture
| Standard | High Quality (HQ) | |
|---|---|---|
| Speed | Near-instant (real-time preview) | Processing time varies (rendered by AI) |
| Quality | Viewport quality — good for quick checks and iteration | Production-grade — rendered with full detail, lighting, and refinement |
| Best for | Testing compositions, exploring angles, rapid iteration | Final images, client deliverables, campaign assets |
| Credit cost | No credits | AI credits apply |
Iterate freely in Standard mode. Once you've nailed the composition and camera angle, switch to HQ for the final capture.
HQ captures are processed in the background — you can continue working in the scene while waiting. Results appear in your gallery once ready.
Keyboard shortcuts
| Action | Shortcut |
|---|---|
| Pan (move laterally) | Spacebar + left click |
| Rotate camera | Alt + left click |
| Zoom | Mouse scroll wheel |
| Move up | E |
| Move down | Q |
| Move selected object | Arrow keys (in Compose mode) |
| Snap to ground | G |
Tooltips with keyboard shortcuts appear on toolbar buttons in Compose mode.
Credits and limits
Standard captures are free — no credits required.
High Quality captures consume AI credits. The exact cost depends on the render and is deducted from your AI credit balance.
Scene generation (converting your input into a 3D environment) may also consume credits depending on the source and complexity.
See AI credits & limits for details on credit allocation, refresh cycles, and purchasing additional credits.
Availability
3D Scenes is available to all Freepik users.
| Plan | Access |
|---|---|
| Free, Premium, Premium+, Pro | Full access to all features, including Place (Street View). |
| Enterprise | Requires manual activation by the Enterprise admin — Freepik cannot enable it on your behalf. Once activated, all features work as expected except Place / Street View, which is not available on Enterprise plans. Object positioning and all other scene-building capabilities work normally. |
Common issues
My scene looks blurry or low-detail.
The 3D environment is generated from your input images. Higher-resolution, well-lit reference images produce better results. If starting from a single image, try adding more references or choosing a preset from the Browse gallery instead.
Objects appear floating or not aligned with the ground.
Select the object and press G to snap it to the ground plane. You can also manually adjust position using the side panel controls.
Place / Street View is not available.
This feature is not available on Enterprise plans. If you're on a non-Enterprise plan and still don't see it, check that your browser allows location services and try refreshing.
HQ capture is taking a long time.
High Quality renders are processed by AI and can take a variable amount of time depending on scene complexity. The process runs in the background — you can continue working while it completes.
I can't find my captured images.
All captures are saved automatically. Check Recent creations on the AI Suite homepage or your Projects.
