3D Generator
Turn any image into a textured 3D model in minutes — no 3D skills required.
The 3D Generator converts images into production-ready 3D models. Upload reference photos from up to four angles, choose a model and texture quality, and get a 3D object you can download as GLB or send directly to 3D Scenes for virtual photoshoots.

Generate a 3D model
Open the 3D Generator
Go to freepik.com/pikaso/tools/image-to-3d or find it under 3D in the tools menu.
Choose a model
Select Tripo v3.1 for maximum quality, Tripo P1 for clean low-poly meshes, or Trellis 2 for general-purpose textured assets.
Upload reference images
Add a front view of your object. Optionally add left, right, and back views for better accuracy.
Set texture quality and face limit
Choose between Textureless, Standard, or Detailed texture quality. Adjust the face limit if you need to control polygon count.
Generate
Click Generate 3D Model. Generation time ranges from ~45 seconds to ~90 seconds depending on texture quality.
Once ready, you can rotate, zoom, and inspect the result in the built-in 3D viewer before downloading or sending it to a scene.
Models: Tripo v3.1, Tripo P1, and Trellis 2
Three AI models are available, each optimized for different use cases.
| Tripo v3.1 | Tripo P1 | Trellis 2 | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Best for | Hero assets, close-up renders, polished final results | Clean low-poly topology, lightweight real-time assets | General-purpose single-image textured assets |
| Quality | Ultra-detailed, high-quality | Optimized mesh, production-ready topology | Detailed textures from a single image |
| Multi-view input | Front, left, right, and back views | Front, left, right, and back views | Single image only |
| Credit cost | 580 – 1,160 credits | 775 credits | 610 – 850 credits |
Choose Tripo v3.1 when quality is the priority — product hero shots, detailed characters, or anything that will be viewed up close. Choose Tripo P1 when you need clean, lightweight meshes for real-time use or further editing. Choose Trellis 2 for quick single-image conversions when you only have one reference photo.
Object references
You can provide up to four reference views of your object to improve generation accuracy:
- Front view (required) — the primary reference image.
- Left view (optional) — side angle from the left.
- Right view (optional) — side angle from the right.
- Back view (optional) — rear of the object.
More views give the AI more information to reconstruct geometry and textures accurately. For best results, use images with consistent lighting and a clean background.
Note: Multi-view input is supported by Tripo v3.1 and Tripo P1. Trellis 2 works with a single image only.
Texture quality
Control the level of texture detail applied to your 3D model. Higher quality takes longer to generate.
| Quality | Description | Generation time |
|---|---|---|
| Textureless | Geometry only, no textures applied. Useful for mesh previews or when you plan to texture externally. | ~45 seconds |
| Standard | Basic textures with good color and surface detail. Good for drafts and iterations. | ~70 seconds |
| Detailed | High-quality textures with fine surface detail. Best for final assets and production use. | ~90 seconds |
Face limit
The face limit controls the maximum number of polygons in your generated model, up to 1 million faces. Use the slider to set your target.
- Higher face limits produce more detailed geometry — better for hero assets, close-ups, and print-quality renders.
- Lower face limits create lighter models — better for real-time applications, web viewers, or when file size matters.
Preview and interact with your model
Once generation is complete, your 3D model appears in an interactive viewer where you can:
- Rotate the model by clicking and dragging.
- Zoom in and out with the scroll wheel.
- Inspect textures, geometry, and overall shape before downloading.
Download and export
All generated models export in GLB format — a standard 3D file compatible with Blender, Unity, Unreal Engine, and most 3D tools and platforms.
Click Download to save the GLB file to your device. You can use it in any 3D pipeline, embed it in web viewers, or import it into other tools.
Use your 3D model in 3D Scenes
The 3D Generator integrates directly with 3D Scenes, Freepik's virtual scene builder. Instead of downloading and re-uploading, you can send your model straight to a scene.
Generate your model
Complete a generation in the 3D Generator.
Send to 3D Scenes
Click the action to use your model in 3D Scenes.
Build your scene
Your model opens in the 3D Scenes editor, ready to be placed in a virtual environment. Position it, adjust camera angles, and capture high-quality renders — all without leaving Freepik.
This workflow lets you go from a flat image to a fully rendered product shot in a virtual scene, end to end.
Tips for better results
- Use clean, well-lit reference images. Clear lighting and a simple background help the AI focus on the object's shape and texture.
- Avoid cluttered or cropped images. The object should be fully visible and centered in the frame.
- Provide multiple views when using Tripo v3.1 or P1. Front, side, and back views give the model significantly more information to work with.
- Match the model to your use case. Tripo v3.1 for maximum detail, Tripo P1 for clean topology and lightweight assets, Trellis 2 for quick single-image conversions.
- Start with Standard texture, then switch to Detailed. Iterate faster at lower quality, then generate the final version with Detailed textures once you're happy with the geometry.
- Use Textureless mode for mesh previews. If you plan to apply your own textures in Blender or another tool, Textureless is faster and gives you a clean starting point.
Credits and limits
| Model | Credit cost |
|---|---|
| Tripo v3.1 | 580 – 1,160 credits (varies by texture quality and face limit) |
| Tripo P1 | 775 credits |
| Trellis 2 | 610 – 850 credits |
Credits are deducted from your AI credit balance. The exact cost depends on the model, texture quality, and face limit settings. See AI credits & limits for details on how credits work, refresh cycles, and how to purchase additional credits.
Availability
The 3D Generator is available to all Freepik users.
| Plan | Access |
|---|---|
| Free, Premium, Premium+, Pro | Full access. Credit costs apply per generation. |
| Enterprise | Off by default. Needs to be enabled by the Enterprise admin. Once activated, works the same as other plans. |
Common issues
My model looks flat or missing detail on one side.
This usually happens when only one reference image is provided. Try uploading additional views (left, right, back), or switch to Tripo v3.1 which handles multi-view input best.
Generation is taking longer than expected.
Detailed texture quality takes ~90 seconds. If it takes significantly longer, check your connection and try again.
The textures don't match my reference image.
Ensure your reference image has good lighting and minimal shadows. Strong directional light or heavy shadows can confuse the texture mapping. Try switching to a higher texture quality setting.
I can only upload one image with Trellis 2.
Trellis 2 is a single-image model by design. If you have multiple reference views, switch to Tripo v3.1 or Tripo P1 to take advantage of multi-view input.
I can't find my generated model.
All generations are saved automatically. Check Recent creations on the AI Suite homepage.
